Simple Goodness Soda Shop in Wilkeson, WA, Awarded Gold Star by Child and Youth Centered Communities
Wilkeson, WA – The Simple Goodness Soda Shop has been honored with the prestigious Gold Star Award from the Child and Youth Centered organization in Pierce County. This award recognizes the Soda Shop's outstanding commitment to creating a positive, welcoming space for youth and families in the community.
Known for its delicious sodas and inviting atmosphere, Simple Goodness Soda Shop has long supported local causes and initiatives that benefit children and families. Their focus on inclusivity and community engagement has made a lasting impact on Wilkeson and beyond.
CYC named the Simple Goodness Soda Shop a Gold Star honoree, saying, "this farm to table cafe, tasting room, and community hub is a third place for both caregivers and their children. A section of the cafe is made just for children, with games and books, a chalk wall, and child-sized seating. They host playdates and family friendly events and have intentional conversations with their staff about how to set boundaries with children around appropriate behavior."
Owner Venise Cunningham acknowledged the honor saying, "when we opened we saw a hole in the restaurant world to fill. We wanted to create the highest quality craft cocktails and beverages in a cozy environment where adults and children could have fun and feel valued. It's been very rewarding to create, and to see the community welcome this place.”
