Fresh Lemonade, the Simple Goodness Way (with Real Fruit Syrups)

March 24, 2026

An easy, farm-inspired lemonade recipe that’s bright, customizable, and naturally delicious

There’s something about a glass of fresh lemonade hits every time—clean, bright, and just the right balance of tart and sweet. At Simple Goodness Sisters, we know that the best lemonade comes from real fruit, not citric acid powder or artificial shortcuts from powders- and still, it can be very easy to make!

We love making lemonade with real lemons and with our handcrafted syrups—built from farm-grown ingredients, organic cane sugar, and just enough sweetness to let the citrus shine.

Juicing lemons requires an extra step, but if you have the time, it pays off.  Making lemonade from real lemons, especially fresh squeezing the juices, results in a very different flavor. There is the tart citrus juice, of course, but also a little bitterness from the peel, and the rounded lemon flavor from the aromatic oils that live in the peel and are expressed when juicing. Add to that a real fruit or botanical syrup like Simple Goodness Syrups and you've got a simple to make drink that tastes super complex and elevated, and is a healthier treat.

Whether you're batching for a summer gathering, stocking your café fridge, or pouring something special at home, this is your go-to lemonade base—with endless ways to switch it up by season, preference or even event (pick a color to match a party theme!) and make it your own.

Fresh Lemonade, the Simple Goodness Way (with Real Fruit Syrups)

Makes 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 16 oz water
  • 6 oz Simple Goodness syrup (adjust to taste depending on flavor of syrup being used, and desired sweetness)

Garnish ideas: match it to the syrup flavor! This could look like:

  • Fresh berries
  • Herb sprigs (mint, basil, thyme) with the bottom leaves that sit in the drink stripped off
  • A rhubarb “stir stick” dipped in sugar
  • Cucumber slices
  • A simple straw in a glass or ribbon tied around the bottle neck

How to Make It

Add lemon juice, water, and syrup to a pitcher and stir well. Chill (and do not add ice) until ready to serve.

To serve, fill a Collins glass all the way with ice. Pour lemonade over the top. Garnish generously.

Pro tip: Pre-batch and store in clean, recycled bottles for grab-and-go service. A 6 oz pour is a perfect single serving—and yes, our syrup bottles just happen to be the ideal size!
