Today, I'm thrilled to introduce you to our latest obsession: adding Simple Goodness Syrups to coffee. These little bottles of garden to glass syrup are packed with flavor and crafted with quality ingredients, making them the perfect companions for your coffee creations. Coffee is as woven into the Pacific Northwest, at this point, as the towering evergreen trees themselves. Where we live, there's a lot of rain. Not crazy monsoons or daily downpours like in other states, but presistent grey drizzle from late Fall to Summer. Enter, coffee. It's a cozy extension of a Northwesterner's hands from a young age.
I (Belinda) was 15 when I started to drink coffee but my Grandma Nancy, raised in a Scandanavian family in Kent, WA, will tell you that kids drank coffees that were mostly milk, from elementary school age on. In contrast, my sister Venise didn't start drinking coffee until she was a new mother and trying to fight the sleepiness of those first few years with young kids. Somehow, despite an upbringing an hour from Seattle and college years spent in Portland, OR, another coffee obsessed capital of the States, I escaped ever having been a barista. But as a daily coffee drinker, I am an enthusiast.
My favorite coffee ever is over a campfire, cowboy coffee style in a metal urn, stiff and a tiny bit smokey, with some cream to soften it. My second favorite is served after dinner with dessert, one of those indulgences I picked up from Grandma Nancy, who serves decaf at every event or holiday with cake. And my third favorite, well that is every first morning cup I've ever drank- because isn't that what addiction does? The sweet relief of a real mug (#realmugclub forever) in my hand with coffee piping hot is made even better by adding Simple Goodness syrups. These syrups can easily take your at home coffee to pro-barista coffee shop levels, with robust flavor and clean ingredient lists.
