REPEAT Pizza Rolls

The Seahawks have done it again! With the help of a whole lot of 12s the Seattle Seahawks are going to the Superbowl for the second year in a row. I will be the first to admit I am not a huge football fan. When the rest of Seattle spends Sunday Funday on the couch watching their beloved Hawks, Farmer Ross and I are usually catching up on farm chores. But, that doesn’t mean I don’t love to jump on the bandwagon every now and again and support the team that has brought so much spirit to our area.

Last year, in preparation for the Super Bowl feast I turned a classic recipe from my late grandmother into a Seahawks crowd pleaser. While Nanny wasn’t much of a football fan herself, my grandpa, affectionately known as Poppi,  is one of the biggest Seahawk fans around. At 95 years young he still never misses a game. So, since my 12th Man in a Blanket recipe brought the Hawks such good luck last year, I decided, like the guy who will wear the same pair of lucky unwashed underwear from last year, that this year called for a Nanny roll RePETE.

However, this year I did add a little twist.  I used the same Nanny Roll recipe from the 12th Man in a Blanket post, but rather than stuff them with little weenies (enter Marshawn Lynch crotch grabbing jokes here), I made them into pizza rolls by stuffing them with marinara sauce and cheese.

Hopefully these RePETE Pizza Rolls will help the Hawks will crush the Patriots and bring home another ring, one for each hand!

1 cup of milk

1/4 cup softened butter

1/2 cup warm water

2 eggs

1/4 cup sugar

2 teaspoons salt

5 1/2 cup bread flour

2 TBS yeast

Blue and green food coloring

marinara sauce

mozzarella cheese

In a bread machine combine milk, softened butter, warm water and eggs.

On top, layer sugar, salt and bread flour.

In the top of the flour create a small well and add the yeast.

Put the bread machine on dough setting.

When the bread machine cycle is complete remove the dough and divide into three equal sized balls.

Knead in the food coloring into each ball until desired color is achieved.

Roll out each ball and cut like a pizza into 13 triangular pieces.

Spoon in marinara sauce and sprinkle mozarella cheese into each triangle.

Roll the triangle up from the fat end to the skinny end and tuck in the ends.

Place in a deep pan, cover and let rise.

When risen, bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
